Hedi Slimane never ceases to amaze and inspire me with his photography. The man is always up to something different--from musicians and androgynous models to street teens and festival crowds. Whatever the subject is, the result is always fascinating. I wish more photographers would break their old and tired formula and their monotone style and challenge themselves with something different like Slimane always does.
So what is the former Dior Homme creative up to now? Liberation is Slimane’s latest project where he captured the men at École Spéciale Militaire de Saint-Cyr (Special Military School of St Cyr) going through their boot camp training. He did the photo story for French national newspaper Liberation. French writer Jean-Dominique Merchet wrote the accompanying text.
