Photography Spotlight :: The Beautiful World of Jeff Slater

“I was born with a camera in hand and see the world as you see my photographs,” explained photographer Jeff Slater to Homotography. “I see it in black and white, with simple lines and light.” And what a beautiful and wonderful world it is, according to Jeff’s vision.

It’s hard to believe that the self-taught Jeff Slater started photographing models only two years ago. He told Homotography, “My primary focus is male models, finding and photographing the masculine side of them. I have a great passion for working with new models just starting their career.”

It’s this combination of Jeff’s passion and the new models’ excitement and sense of wonder that results in fresh unpretentious images.

The Faces section in Jeff’s portfolio draws you in and presents an intimate and personal look into the model. Jeff explained of his faces photography, “its my way of photographing headshots;  really up-close so you can see the model’s personality, facial lines and expression.”

Jeff recently moved back to LA from San Francisco, with his partner of 18 years. He works as a healthcare administrator for 50+ hours, and spends another 50+ hours weekly on his ‘intense hobby,’ photography.
