Photographer Alex Alfaro shares with us his latest editorial "Natural Instinct," a tale of two shady and ambiguous characters. Alex explained to Homotography that the original idea of the shoot revolved around the title "Natural Instinct," whatever happens happens. He then thought of Russian drug lords in a back alley. Two characters in a world where their interaction has to be hidden, with subtle homoerotic elements. The possibilities of what is going on are left open to the viewer: it could be that these two characters are waiting to close a drug deal, are about to fight, have sex...
As for the grainy photography technique and the light manipulation, Alex explained that he was aiming for an old cinematic quality, a bit of Film Noir.
