Photography Spotlight :: The Naked Art of Gigi Stoll

 

It was the above nipples shot titled ‘James Twice’ that drew my attention to the nude portraits of NYC-based photographer Gigi Stoll. The more I discovered, the more I was drawn in. Raw, sensual, unabashedly sexy, yet intimate and delicate… these are images that speak to you.

 

 

Born in San Antonio, Texas, Gigi is a self-taught photographer who currently lives and works as a freelance photographer in New York City. She particularly enjoys working with dancers & models who can move with their body. Her client list includes Vogue Paris, VMan, V Magazine, Vanity Fair, W Magazine, Vogue Nippon, InStyle and Paper Magazine. 

 

 

When we asked her about these images, Gigi Stoll explained to Homotography, “I enjoy shooting all subjects but my love is shooting nudes.  They are usually photographed in my living room. These collaborative and creative sessions come together with a variety of subjects which vary from friends to strangers which come to me by word of mouth.”

 

 

“For a few hours, each subject slowly drops his or her inhibitions. The duality between subject and shadow has been the most interesting. It is at this point that they become different, sometimes telling of the subject and what lies within,” continued Gigi.
