Homotography reader Daniel tipped me off to the resemblance between Performance, Steven Meisel’s new editorial in Vogue Italia, and Alice in Wonderland by Richard Avedon back in 1973. As I browsed Avedon’s images, it became clear to me that it was a source of inspiration behind Meisel’s new editorial. Then I remembered that Avedon had a book published last year, and wait for it… it is called Performance. I think Avedon would have been mighty proud of the repeat performance!
