Out There Magazine | The Freedom Issue

OUT THERE is a new bi-annual luxury journal targeted at professional metropolitan gay men with a focus on international queer culture, arts and travel. Released by independent London publishers Brown Tiger, the magazine makes its debut with “Issue One: The Freedom Issue” featuring actor Alan Cumming on the cover by photographer Minh Ngo.

According to the press release, the 200-pages issue “examines how gay freedom was won and how in some parts of the world, there is still so much to do. They talk to veterans of New York’s Stonewall uprising and to international activist Peter Tatchell about his experiences of the early days of the UK’s gay liberation front; and carry a damning report in partnership with the IGLHRC on the religious bigots who are exporting homophobia to Africa and beyond.”

“My vision for OUT THERE is to inform and entertain in equal parts. What sets us apart from everyone else is that our content is developed by people who have something passionate to say about the places and things they love and their experiences of being ‘out there’. And it’s more than just the written word, we strongly believe that experiences are mainly visual - and you’ll find that our stories are illustrated with stunning, original, commissioned and curated photography and expressive forms to bring them to life. OUT THERE readers are not looking for a magazine that dictates to them what they want - they form their own opinions, what we do is provide them with inspiration that affirms their life choices,” explains Martin Perry, Creative and Editorial Director for Out There magazine.

Out There is already out in London and will have its launching in New York in early May.
