Christian Ochsenfahrt by Pierre Debusschere

In addition to the Anna Paquin by Terry Richardson cover, the January 2011 issue of Dazed & Confused magazine seems to have this alternative cover version featuring Elite Milano model Christian Ochsenfahrt by Pierre Debusschere. I’m not sure if it’s a subscriber’s edition or back cover, but I like this one more, much more.

Dazed & Confused, The 2010 Covers

2010 was a year of transformation for Dazed & Confused magazine, and their 13 covers reflected the change (starting with April). See all the covers after the jump. My personal favorite is the May double covers, what’s yours?

Pierre Debusschere, a Visual Re-bel

I’m a very big fan of Pierre Debusschere and his futuristic blend of images and video fashiontography (you can see all our Pierre features here). The guys at Re-bel magazine were lucky in having him contribute these images and three short films for their first issue (see here). The models are Armin, David, and Sverre, styled by Rasharn Agyemang. Click the images to enlarge and continue for more after the  jump.

Getting Bloody High with Jey Crisfar

I just watched Bruce LaBruce’s gay zombie movie Otto; or Up With Dead People. I must admit it was a bit difficult to digest and pretty sexually graphic in some scenes. However, under the layer of blood and cocks, the movie communicates some pretty serious social issues. Also, once you get to know Otto, you can’t help but love this confused soul.

Seeing the movie reminded me of the music video for the song Future Days (Getting High) by Society. Directed by one of my favorite emerging photographers, Pierre Debusschere (his first music video, actually), the clip stars the adorable Belgian actor Jey Crisfar who played Otto.

Men’s Fashion Week Coverage by Pierre Debusschere in VHJ

Vogue Hommes Japan is not your typical magazine, and their coverage of the men’s fashion week in their new issue vol. 3 is proof of that. Rather than go for the standard backstage and runway images, VHJ commissioned photographer Pierre Debusschere for an inspired presentation that is pure candy for the eye.

True Stone by Pierre Debusschere Featuring Adrien Sahores

Pierre Debusschere has been on my radar for a while, with captivating recent features in Dazed & Confused and Citizen K International. His new exhibit ‘True Stone’ further solidifies my fascination with Pierre’s photography and unique style. ‘True Stone’ features images of a single model, Adrien Sahores [Ford Europe]. After opening Prada last season, Adrien is featured in the new Lanvin Fall/Winter ad campaign and walked the Marc Jacobs SS 2010 show last week in NYC. Adrien is also featured in the new issue of 10 Men (see here).

When we asked him about the new exhibit, Pierre told us that he reworked video stills as photographs. He found that this medium helps him cross the boundaries between stills, movement, and time. The images are the result of Pierre crossing path with Adrien over the past year. The exhibit deals with the concept of inner identity and the evolution of our exposure, but Pierre prefers that people look at it and see what they want to see.

Here are some pictures of the ‘True Stone’ exhibit, which is open right now in “Wrong Weather” gallery in Porto Portugal. It will open later this year in London.
