The sexy Tony Ward (forever known as Madonna’s boy toy during the Justify My Love era) is featured in the November issue of Playboy France with photography by Shawn Mortensen. Tony is clean shaven and smooth in the editorial, unlike his recent full-beard photoshoots.

The latest entry in Homotography’s Best of 2008 is a fusion of sports, movies, photography, and homoerotic imagery in the name of “Football is War” by photographer Erwin Olaf. Commissioned by AD newspaper to feature the Dutch football team in their Euro Championship special earlier this year, Olaf informed the players upfront that they would be portrayed as "lust objects, that there were sexual and erotic elements and that they would be completely covered in mud.”
“Football is War” is obviously inspired by the movie 300 and shows the Dutch players as Spartan warriors. The participating players were John Heitinga, Rafael van der Vaart, Edwin van der Sar, Joris Mathjsen, Nigel de Jong and Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

I just came upon this captivating music video by Icelandic band Sigur RĂ³s, and I can’t believe I haven’t seen it before. The music of Sigur RĂ³s has been used in many gay-themed movies and shows, including the US version of Queer as Folk and the dark movie, Mysterious Skin.
This music video tells a heartbreaking story of two young boys in love and how their families can’t accept their being gay and try to ‘butch’ them up. The song is entitled “Vidrar Vel Til Loftarasa” and is a bit old (from 1999), and although it’s in Icelandic, the song is mostly instrumental. You just have to check out the video below.

Like I mentioned in the sexy new Greenpeace anti-whaling campaign, there is nothing better than raising awareness with some eye-candy. And this latest entry in Homotography’s Best of 2008 feature is certainly one of those. The 2008 ad campaign for Olla Condoms by photographer ClĂ¡udio Elisabetsky showed us that, "The day after is more relaxed for those who wear condoms." And to prove their point, they had four hunks wrapped in white towels sitting around in public having a smoke and looking all happy while the people around them looked stressed.

The campaign was created by age ad agency , SĂ£o Paulo, Brazil

I just came upon these outtake pictures from the Madonna 'Hard Candy' promo photo shoot by Steven Klein. I haven’t seen them around before (except the black & white one). is it just me or does Madonna look like she has three breasts in the below pic (left)? No wonder it stayed an outtake!I have to say though, even without photoshop in some of the pictures, Madonna looks physically awesome.

Homotography wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
The illustration is by artist Chris Haughton.
There is nothing better than promoting awareness about serious issues with eye-candy. It’s like hitting two birds with one stone for me. PETA always does it with their ‘I’d rather go naked than wear fur’ campaigns, and now Greenpeace is getting in on the action as well.
Greenpeace are hoping to put an end to the savage whaling in Japan with this new creative ad campaign which lets you know that “Not all traditions deserve to be
preserved.” Illustrations of the bloody & barbaric whaling are tattooed (temporarily I am sure) on the bodies of some hunky hunks. The campaign was created for Greenpeace by advertising agency Leo Burnett, Hong Kong with photography by Lewis Ho & artistic illustration by Thomas Ho. (click below images for bigger size)

‘It’s a Beautiful Day for Cancer’ is a skin cancer awareness song and music video by Al Bino, an Australian hip-hop artist. The song was written and produced by Lyrics Born for an Australian skin cancer benefit project . It’s pretty funny and tongue-in-cheek, but it does raise awareness about this important disease and how we can easily avoid it. See the video below.

This fun shopping bag design from Condomi turns customers into walking advertisements that will surely attract some attention on the street. The bags come with a rather realistic life-size images of a male/female in a thong/G-string. The idea was executed by ad agency DRAFTFCB Kobza (Vienna, Austria). I think it is awesome. While most similar shops use camouflaged and disguised bags, these bags are out and proud! And they might be the safest and easiest way for you to get your hands groping a nice package ;)

The always fantastic online magazine, Fantasticsmag, has a pretty fantastic feature entitled ‘Fancy Dress’ by photographer Frank Louis. The shoot features fashion creations and designs by Christopher Uvenio with male models Frantz Giovanni, Nicholas Baggetta and Billy Steeves. It’s butch meets Baroque with a bit of inspiration from Marc Jacobs’ recent love for skirts. See it all at Fantasticsmag.

I have seen and featured quite a few suggestive ads but it doesn’t get any more suggestive than this quirky ad for Black Tulip, a gay hotel in Amsterdam. The ad was created by ad agency Euro RSCG Amsterdam and shows that ‘Europe’s most exciting gay hotel’ is designed to cater to your pleasure by having the floor map as an illustration of a man bending for you. In fact, by visiting the hotel’s page, I found that some rooms in the hotel come with unusual accessories such as a sling, bondage hooks, and cages. Yeah, I am a bit scared, lol.

‘AIDS is Still a Big Deal’ is a pretty innovative awareness campaign by NY Public Health professionals, New York University and three-time Emmy Award nominated LGBT series, ‘In The Life.’
The campaign is tailored towards gay youth to combat the dangerously growing misconception that AIDS is not a ‘big deal’ anymore and the alarming rise of high-risk behavior among HIV+ young gay men.
The campaign tries to ‘speak’ to these young gay guys using their own language. Two ‘webispodes’ tell the story of a young NYC gay man who meets sex partners on the Internet. Watch the two episodes, ‘The Morning After’ and ‘The Test’, which were directed by Todd Ahlberg, below.

We already knew about the new Brad Pitt campaign for Japanese denim brand, Edwin, back in January and we saw a couple of the ads (see picture below). But now the Japan-only commercials, which were directed by Steven Klein, have leaked. And similar to the previous collaborations between Pitt and Klein, the commercials are pretty cool with a renegade/rebel vibe. See the full four commercials from the Pitt Edwin campaign below.

Trend Hunter magazine has put together the mother-fucking load archive of controversial and racy ads that not only push the envelope to the limits, they cross the freaking line. Predictably, Tom Ford and American Apparel are the kings of this cluster, but you will be surprised by who else makes it. See all the photos (160+) in one page, or browse through the 50 posts in a slideshow.
GQ Magazine has turned to Terry Richardson, who is famous for his sex-infused photography, to help Gossip Girl good-boy Penn Badgley grow a pair and break out of his shell. And that, he certainly did! Penn grabs his (tennis) balls and erupts all over the set in the editorial, ‘American Splendor’. Check out the editorial at GQ.

The new ad campaign for John Galliano Jewelry Fall/Winter 2008-09 collection is pure eye candy. The beautiful creations are showcased on the naked skins of French model Morgane Dubled and a tan male model. I will update with more info about the male model and photographer once I find that out. In the mean time, enjoy the hotness.

Christina Aguilera gets down and dirrty with male model Ruben Cortada (Storm model management) in the Fall 2008 issue of Citizen K magazine. Photographer Ruven Afanador shot Aguilera in the editorial “Deep Into Your Eyes: How devilishly beautiful you look from behind, facing the cemetery."

I just came upon this image by photographer Christian Webber and I think it is totally fascinating. I am not sure who the models are, but he did it for Details magazine back in 2007 for an article on 'satisfying your wife'. I love the approach and the composition.

My second post in the Best of 2008 feature is an interesting photoshoot of two members of the band The Virgins by Terry Richardson for Vogue Hommes International Spring/Summer 2008. It's always cool to see straight guys who are relaxed and confident with their sexuality and don't mind 'gaying' it up in the name of art.

Ever since Marc Jacobs got his body into shape, he's been proud to let it all hang out in many ads and editorials. The latest is a story in the new Harper’s Bazaar about Stephen Sprouse’s upcoming collection for Louis Vuitton. Marc Jacobs is captured naked by photographer Terry Richardson while he models the Sprouse-designed LV bags.
