Interview Magazine, The 2010 Covers
With the inexplicable rarity of good magazine covers, I feel we should celebrate those few titles that still understand their importance. Following our post about the Dazed & Confused 2010 covers, we take a look at what Interview magazine delivered this past year. My personal favorite is the May cover (bow to the Queen). See them all after the jump.

The Sins of Steven Klein in French Vogue
The 90 Anniversary October 2010 issue of Vogue Paris wouldn't have been complete without a bit of the sex & violence of Steven Klein. His aptly titled Les Péchés (Sins) features editorial darling Lara Stone alongside male models Cesar Casier and Christopher Michaut, who were styled by Carine Roitfeld in sexy Agent Provocateur. Needless to say, it's NSFW after the jump...

Calvin Klein Jeans X Fall/Winter 10.11 by Mert & Marcus
After two seasons with Jamie Dornan and Eva Mendes by Steven Klein [see SS10, FW09.10 campaigns], Calvin Klein Jeans turned to Dutch model Lara Stone and photography duo Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott for their Fall/Winter 2010-11 ad campaign.
Lara Stone, who is a Calvin Klein exclusive this advertising season, is joined by Sid Ellisdon and AJ Abualrub. Models Eric Anderson and Grayson Vaughan are also reported to be part of the campaign, although I can’t see them in this selection released by Calvin Klein. However, you can see them in the uncensored campaign video after the jump.

Love :: Lara Stone by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott
A naked & statuesque Lara Stone stars on a teaser cover for the third issue of bi-annual Love magazine. Coming out on February 8, 2010, the issue has a theme of ‘Fashion Icons’. I think Lara is a great choice, as we have seen her grow into a true icon throughout the past year. Lara was photographed here by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott in a style that reminds me of Helmut Newton.

I’d Live Happily Ever After with Jamie Dornan Too!

Jamie Dornan, Lara Stone and Ollie Edwards star in the sexy editorial ‘They Lived Happily Ever After’ in the new issue of i-D magazine [subscribe]. British photographer Alasdair McLellan follows Lara as she cheats on her ‘thug’ boyfriend Ollie with the sensitive Jamie.

The editorial includes some fun comic-style strips chronicling the affair.

Lara Stone’s Blackface by Steven Klein, French Vogue

The ever controversial French Vogue lives up to its reputation in the October 2009 issue with an eye-popping collaboration with Steven Klein. The controversy is not about the usual sex and violence, but about race. Klein’s favorite model of the moment, Lara Stone, was transformed into a black woman with blackface & styling by Carine Roitfeld. This is not Klein’s first time with blackface, he’s done it a couple of times before in Vogue Italia (February 2006 & March 2004). But for some reason, this time it’s causing a stir.

I personally find the editorial extremely thought-provoking. Take for example the below ‘cracked paint’ image. Are we all black on the inside? Are black people trying to look white? Are white people trying to be black? Does the color of the skin really matter? Or maybe Klein is simply a fan of Mad Men, which pulled a blackface stunt in a recent episode.
